My name is Peter Nordwall, and since August 2000 I´ve lived in Vasa, Finland . Although, I was born and raised in Örnsköldsvik , Sweden . I work as a full-time pop/jazz musician in Ostrobothnia and other parts of Finland . Saxophone is my main instrument, with flute and clarinet as my secondary instruments.

I started playing saxophone at an early stage of my life, but the great interest started when I took part of a cd-production with Roger Pontare and Kramfors Big Band. Thereafter I studied music at Bollnäs Folk High School 1992-1995 and continued my studies at Piteå school of musics IE-teachers education 1995-1999, and one year at the studio musicians program 1999-2000. I also studied a lot of arranging and compostion for Hans Hjortek.

After these studies, I moved to Vasa where I now teach music at Lappfjärds Folkhögskola, Kuula-opisto, the institute of Legato and Närpes Musikkår. I have also been teaching at the Swedish Polytechnic and the Swedish Vocational Institute in Jakobstad. I also work as a musician at Wasa Theatre and Vaasan Kaupunginteatteri.

I’v been playing at productions for the Swedish Television, FST and YLE. Some festivals that I’ve been playing at are: Umeå International Jazzfestival, Korsholms Musikfestspel, Imatra Big Band Festival, Pori Jazzfestival, Umeå Kammarmusiks Festspel, Norrtälje Jazzfestival, Alandia Jazzfestival, Baltic Jazzfestival, Rowlit, Ludvika Festivalen, Jakobstads Dagar, Sundsvalls Gatufest, Juniskij Veceri, Korpo Sea Jazz.

I’ve been taken saxophone lessons from Johan Hörlen, Peter Lindkvist, Robert Normark, Jerry Bergonzi, Hector Bingert, and Javier Silva.

In year 2006 Peter was nominated to "Gyllene Skivan 2006" in Sweden and was voted for the listeners favorite choice. 2008 I was rewarded with a schoolarship from Svenska Kulturfonden in Finland of 15.600 euros.
